DP Technology to Unveil New Artificial Intelligence-Based CAM System at EMO Hannover
Press release
The California-based software company will introduce a new artificial intelligence-based CAM system at EMO 2019, a renowned international tradeshow for the metalworking industry.
Camarillo, CA (August 2, 2019) — Representatives from DP Technology, the makers of ESPRIT CAM system, will make a splash this year at EMO unveiling the newest version of their product—now featuring artificial intelligence.
Based in Hannover, Germany, EMO is an internationally attended tradeshow for members of the metalworking industry, including engineers, machinists, metallurgists, and others. 2019’s conference will take place from September 16-21 and include more than 2,000 exhibitors. The conference attracts more than 100,000 attendees, half of whom are from outside Germany.
This year, DP Technology will unveil their new ESPRIT CAM system, powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The fourth-generation software uses a patent-pending AI engine to simplify the programming process for CNC operators and improve machine productivity on the shop floor. The system is machine-aware using a digital twin of the CNC machine, tooling, and fixtures to drive the AI engine. These new advancements, the result of 35 years of innovation, make this unveiling the most exciting product rollout in the history of the company.
“Our AI engine represents a fundamental change in the way CNC machines are driven,” says Chuck Mathews, Chief Technology Officer for ESPRIT’s parent company, DP Technology. “The new ESPRIT CAM system's AI machine-aware algorithms provide an exceptional user experience—simplifying programming, increasing tool life, and improving machine performance.”
In addition to a simplified process, the new system boasts a number of new features. These include:
- Adaptive machining cycles, any combination of milling or turning on any machine tool
- Automatic links for collision-free positioning between operations
- Process optimization; The AI engine automatically sequences the program for the shortest cycle times
- Machine swap; When any changes are made to the machine or setup, the AI engine automatically updates the program
“In our opinion, it’s the most significant advancement in the history of CAM,” says Mathews.
EMO Hannover 2019 journalists and attendees eager to find out more about the new AI-powered CAM system can visit the ESPRIT booth at Hall 9, Booth D06.
