Marposs
Established in Bologna in 1952 by Mr. Mario Possati, Marposs was founded upon the idea of making the first in-process equipment for checking parts during grinding, allowing improvements in the quality and quantity of machined parts. Today, Marposs employs a sales and service presence in more than 20 countries, with a network of agents and distributors in another dozen. Today, the companies of Marposs Group can supply a wide range of equipment for quality control in the production environment. Marposs has become a world leader in measurement technology by offering its customers a combination of advanced products, market knowledge, and commitment to long-term global partnerships. Building on these foundations, Marposs has created an international organization that can deliver application, design, and service support virtually anywhere in the world.
Marposs produces industrial application systems to measure and control dimensions, geometries, and surface quality of mechanical components in the machining process. Marposs proposes a complete range of spindle probes, from those mainly dedicated to flat geometry parts to those for complex 3D surfaces. DP Technology’s ESPRIT software is a powerful, full-spectrum CAM system for CNC programming, optimization, and simulation.
ESPRIT software represents one of the easiest solutions to add probing cycles to existing cutting programs. Through it, Marposs provides its customers with the turn-key solution for creating from simple bore measurement to complex measuring cycle.
Through this new partnership, Marposs's probing cycles are available on ESPRIT software, simplifying measurement on a 5-axis or multi-tasking machine.
Thanks to the availability of machine kinematic, workpiece, and probe 3D files, ESPRIT's digital twin allows users to program a measuring cycle, add, and simulate all movements before cutting begins. ESPRIT CAM software has maintained its position as an industry favorite thanks to the ease with which users can access a point, even hidden in a niche of the part, automatically moving all the axes.
The goal is to provide both companies’ mutual customers with a new and easy method to measure both simple and complex parts on every type of machine tool, using a proven probing solution and programming additional inspection cycles in a blink of an eye.
Probing is an established best practice for maximizing the efficiency, quality, capability, and accuracy of machine tools. Marposs probe systems provide an innovative solution to improve the efficiency of machine tools. Touch probes on CNC machining centers and lathes can be used to identify and set up parts, measure features in-cycle for adaptive machining, and verify finished component dimensions.
"Most of Marposs's customers, especially those working in die and mold, aerospace, and the 3C market (computer, communication, and consumer electronics), are quite often looking to reduce cycle times while maintaining production quality. Combining the types and number of touchpoints becomes the solution, and ESPRIT will help to speed up this research," says Roberto Bruni, sales and marketing manager at Marposs.
"For this reason, we believe combining ESPRIT with Marposs's probes will give everybody a perfect solution."
