Alma
Alma
Established in 1979, Alma is a worldwide CAD/CAM software for sheet metal working, cutting and robotics. The company offers special products for metal sheet cutting and welding with Almacam Cut and Almacam Weld. Alma has built a reputation as the leading specialist in automatic nesting of complex shapes for cutting. Ready for Industry 4.0, Alma offers a complete solution with a full integration of its CAD/CAM products to ERP and CAPM systems.
With 14 offices worldwide, Alma provides international support to customers in aeronautics, ground transport, shipbuilding, and offshore construction and mining equipment. Thanks to their partnerships with Mazak, Yasakawa, and many others, Alma boasts a portfolio that includes clients such as John Deere, Volvo, Siemens, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and more.
ESPRIT began a partnership with Alma in 2019. After only six months, the two teams introduced a dual software solution. This solution allows Alma to use the full ESPRIT Additive DED cycles such as 3x, 4x, and 5x, bringing the software to a new level of supporting additive technology. On the other hand, the solution allows ESPRIT to support additive machines including Yaskawa, ABB, Fanuc, and Kuka. This type of mutually beneficial partnership unlocks a host of new possibilities for ESPRIT and Alma users.
ESPRIT Additive Robots Support
In partnership with Alma CAM, ESPRIT Additive DED now supports programming Additive Robots. Import your program and check the toolpaths for your additive part in ESPRIT, and then run simulations and post processing in Alma CAM. Subtractive operations are done by regular 5-axis programming in ESPRIT. This video shows a valve part designed and built by the University of Grenoble, on a Yaskawa robot with a Fronius additive head for wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). Fronius also equips CNC machines such as the Mazak J-600 AM, which is also supported by ESPRIT.
