Marposs
Marposs
The company was established in Bologna in 1952 by Mr. Mario Possati (1922-1990): he had the idea of making the first in-process equipment for checking parts during grinding, allowing improvements in the quality and quantity of parts made by machine tools. Marposs is now present directly with its own sales and service organization in more than 20 countries and has a network of agents and distributors in another dozen countries. Today the companies of Marposs Group can supply a widest range of equipment for quality control in production environment. Marposs has become a world leader in measurement technology by offering its customers a combination of advanced products, market knowledge and commitment to long term global partnerships. Building on these foundations, Marposs has created an international organization able to deliver application, design and service support virtually anywhere in the world.
Marposs produces industrial application systems to measure and control dimensions, geometries and surface quality of mechanical components in the machining process. Marposs proposes a complete range of spindle probes, from those mainly dedicated to flat geometry parts to those for complex 3D surfaces. DP Technology’s ESPRIT software is a powerful, full-spectrum CAM system for CNC programming, optimization, and simulation.
ESPRIT software represents one of the easiest solutions to add probing cycles to existing cutting programs. Through it, Marposs will provide their customers with the turn-key solution for creating from simple bore measurement to complex measuring cycle.
Through this new partnership, Marposs’ probing cycles will be available on ESPRIT software and measuring a component on a 5 axes or multi-tasking machine will become a game.
The Digital Twin supplied by ESPRIT software, thanks to the availability of machine kinematic, work-piece and probe 3D files, will permit not only to program a measuring cycle but also to add and simulate all the movement to reach the part at the position to investigate. What makes ESPRIT CAM software amazing is the easiness with which you can reach a point, even hidden in a niche of the part, automatically moving all the axes.
The goal is providing the companies’ mutual customers a new and easy method to measure simple and complex parts on every type of machine tool, using always the best probing solution and being able to program and simulate additional inspection cycle in a blink of an eye.
Probing is an established best practice for maximizing the efficiency, quality, capability and accuracy of machine tools. Marposs probe systems provide an innovative solution to improve the efficiency of machine tools. Touch probes on CNC machining centres and lathes can be used to identify and set up parts, measure features in-cycle for adaptive machining, and verify finished component dimensions.
”Most of Marposs’ customers, especially those working in Die & Mold, Aerospace, 3C market (Computer, Communication and Consumer electronics) sectors, are quite often looking to cycle time reduction keeping unchanged production quality. The best compromise of types and number of touch points becomes the solution and ESPRIT will help to speed up this research.
For this reason we believe ESPRIT with MARPOSS’ probes will give to everybody a perfect solution” says Roberto Bruni, Sales & Marketing Manager by Marposs SPA.
